In terms of children's sizing, age is not always an accurate guide re sizing as these two nine year old boys in the photograph demonstrate!  In general, we would always advise that you choose a bigger size - particularly with customised items - so that the clothes last.  In our experience, children/teens prefer their hoodies baggy rather than tight.
